The interview
with Adolf Mlakar. We asked him about his childhood.
WHEN AND WHERE WERE YOU BORN?
I was born on 8th of May in 1943 in small village in Prepuž.
WHAT WAS YOUR FAMILY LIKE?
My dad was factory worker and my mother was housewife, she take care of us children’s. I have 2 sisters and 3 brothers .We were a big family. Our father speeded most of his time working and making money for the family. We have not had a lot of money.
WHAT IS YOUR MOST MEMORABLE MOMENT FROM YOUR CHILHOOD?
The most memorable moment from my childhood is when my father made me new shoes. And the other day when we were playing someone stole my shoes. I was really sad and then I had to go home barefoot. It was really cold and it was snowing. I will remember this forever.
WHAT WAS LIKE BACK THAN?
It was hard. We did not have a lot of money so I had to work when I was only six years old.
WHAT DID YOU DO IN YOUR FREE TIME?
I helped my family and I took care for the animals.
DO YOU THINK CHILDREND WERE HAPPiER WHEN YOU WERE YOUNG?
No, because life was really hard, but it was better because we hang out more and we were spending a lot of time in the nature.

SHORT STORY
Annie's dreams
Once upon a time there was an old castle on a hill. There was a family living in this castle and they were realy kind. But one day the father become very ill. The whole city was sad.
Next day a doctor came to help them. But there was nothing to do. He said that he never seen a disease and he didn't know how to cure it. His daughter was only seven years old. She was sad and she was cring all day.
One month later father died. They had a big funeral.
After that she always liked to sing, but not in public.
His wife Maria and his daughter Annie moved away, beacuse they couldn't live in the castle. They said that there was too much memories of their father. They moved in to a small city. They had a big farm and Annie like it. She was helping Maria to feed and take care of animals.
They were happy and Annie liked to be there. She met a lot of friends and she started to go to school there. But one day she remembered her father and her old life and she became really sad. She started to cry again. Her mother comforted her. And then everything was fine again. So she was happy again.
Two years after she started to sing in public and she was good at it. Everybody liked her. Then Annie became famous. She and her mother moved from England to America so she could follow her dreams.
And then they lived happily ever after.
